Five Day Flood Risk Forecast

Forecast issued by the Met Office at 10:30am, Tuesday 23rd January

Local flooding from rivers and surface water is probable for the north of England, and possible elsewhere in England and Wales on Wednesday. River flood impacts are also probable around the River Severn on Thursday and Friday as river levels rise after recent rain. Land, roads and some properties could flood and there could be travel disruption.

The overall river flood risk is LOW.

Minor river flooding impacts are probable in Area A and possible in Area B on Specific Areas of Concern Map 1 on Wednesday, due to heavy rain.

Minor river flooding impacts are probable in Area C on Specific Areas of Concern Map 2 along parts of the River Severn during Thursday and Friday. This is due to river levels rising in response to recent rainfall.

Coastal

The coastal/tidal flood risk is VERY LOW for the next five days, despite some large waves at times.

Surface

The overall surface water flood risk is LOW.

Minor surface water flooding impacts are probable in Area A and possible in Area B on Specific Areas of Concern Map 1 on Wednesday, due to heavy rain.

Groundwater

The groundwater flood risk is VERY LOW for the next five days.
