Mid Bristol Avon Area

Flood Alert

River levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Bradford on Avon river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall over the past week. Consequently, the risk of flooding is reducing. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for Holt Road at Staverton. We do not forecast the situation to deteriorate any further. Further showery rainfall is forecast over the next 3 days with the highest amounts of rain falling in the early hours of Friday 18th October. River levels are falling, but still pose a flood risk. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are clearing weed screens and checking defences. Please see the GOV.UK website for a 5 day flood forecast and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 18/10/19, or as the situation changes.

This information last updated 7:45pm, Thursday 17th October.
