The forecast flood risk across parts of south, east and central England for today (Tuesday) and tomorrow morning is low (yellow). Local flooding is possible but not expected from surface water and rivers. Properties may flood and there may be travel disruption. Elsewhere today and tomorrow, and for most of England and Wales on Thursday and Friday, the forecast flood risk is very low (green). Local flooding is possible today and tomorrow and is possible but not expected on Thursday and Friday. Land, roads and some properties may flood and there may be travel disruption.

River

The river flood risk is LOW for Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Isolated significant river flooding impacts are possible, but not expected, on Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning from potentially heavy and thundery rain, particularly in urban and fast responding catchments. Refer to Specific Area of Concern Map 1. Minor river flooding impacts are also possible later on Tuesday and into Wednesday (see Areas of Concern Map 1) more widely across England and Wales. On Thursday and Friday further minor impacts are possible, but not expected, across parts of England and Wales and the river flood risk becomes VERY LOW.

Coastal

The coastal/tidal flood risk is VERY LOW for the next five days.

Surface

The surface water flood risk is LOW for Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Significant surface water flooding impacts are possible, but not expected, on Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday morning from potentially heavy and thundery rain. Refer to Specific Area of Concern Map 1. Minor impacts are also possible later on Tuesday and into Wednesday (see Areas of Concern Map 1) more widely across England and Wales.
