Minor Watercourses of South Forty Foot Drain

Flood Alert

Over the last 12 hours we have seen heavy rainfall in the South Forty Foot Drain area. This means that the watercourses in the area are now rising, which will lead to flooding of low lying land and roads close to the rivers from Sunday afternoon onwards. We expect the watercourses to remain high throughout Sunday. More rain is forecast to fall on Monday 14 October which may keep river levels high for longer. Our forecasts indicate that flooding to properties isn't likely and therefore flood warnings are not expected to be issued at this stage. We are monitoring river levels, and have staff in the field checking for blockages and clearing weedscreens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated as the situation changes.

This information last updated 5:26pm, Sunday 13th October.
