This Flood Warning has been issued for the evening high tide between 10.15pm on Saturday 15th December and 1am on Sunday 16th December. The particular area at risk is Bridlington around the North Promenade. During these times, large waves may cause overtopping of coastal defences and windblown spray driven by strong, south-easterly winds. Where overtopping does occur, it could be variable, unpredictable and pulsating. The coastal promenades are at particular risk of dangerous conditions to pedestrians. Local roads and vehicular traffic close to the frontage could also be affected. Properties close to the frontage may experience windblown spray, or runoff caused by overtopping. Other coastal areas outside the area covered by this warning may still be at risk, and a flood alert has been issued for the wider area. We will continue to monitor the situation and update this message accordingly.
