"River levels are rising at the Glenfield river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and car parks is expected from 10:00 today, 28/04/24. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads including the Morrisons parks at Glenfield and Anstey. Low-lying land and farmlands in the Glenfield, Anstey, Thurcaston, Rothley, Newtown Linford, Cropston, Swithland and Quorn areas.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours. We expect river levels to rise throughout today, 28/04/24.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking debris screens for blockages.
Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 09:00 tomorrow morning, 29/04/24, or as the situation changes."
