The lunchtime tide today at Portsmouth came in as forecast at 5.06 metres Chart Datum (2.33 mAOD). Impacts were not as severe as expected. Saturday’s very early morning tide at 00:18 on the 26/11/2022 is elevated but not expected to be as high. Saturday’s lunchtime tide at 12:30 on the 26/11/2022 is forecast at 5.12 metres Chart Datum (2.39 mAOD). These may cause minor impact flooding to coastal roads and car parks. A Flood Alert will remain in force to describe the impacts of these tides. We continue to monitor the forecast, and are liaising with the local authority and their response teams over the condition of the beach at South Hayling. The excavator has been on site re-forming the beach crest. At high tide, waves and water may be higher up the beach than normal. Avoid South Hayling seafront at high tide. Shingle and debris can be thrown by strong winds and large waves.
