Advertising on this website

This website is entirely free to use, but costs money to provide! In order to offset the hosting costs, the site carries advertising.

Advertising comes from two primary sources. The general, site-wide advertising is from Google Adsense. There is also a section of sponsored links associated with the comments section on pages where comments are enabled.

If you find an advert offensive or misleading

RiverLevels.uk does not have any direct control over individual adverts shown on the site. Certain categories of adverts are not permitted on this site; this includes adverts for alcohol, gambling, dating and any advert with sexual references. However, within the permitted categories, we do not choose which adverts are shown - these are selected by our advertising networks.

If you find any advert offensive or misleading, please report it using the on screen reporting system:

You can also control which adverts Google Adsense shows to you by visiting the Google Ad Settings page.

More general information on online advertising, including the ability to tailor your settings with many different advertisers, can be found at Your Online Choices.

If you want to advertise on RiverLevels.uk

If you are an advertiser and want your adverts to show up here, then you will need a Google Adwords account. We do not, currently, deal directly with advertisers. In order to ensure that your adverts appear on this website, you will need to include it in your placement targetting settings. See this help article for more details on how to apply placement targets.

If you really, really don't want to see adverts on this site

If you really don't want to see adverts on this site (or, indeed, any other site), then uBlock Origin is probably the best adblocker currently available. Please be aware, though, that if you do use it on this site, then you will reduce our income. If you like to block adverts, but still consider this site a useful resource, then we'd encourage you to support it directly by means of a donation.
