Groundwater levels in the Candovers and Old Alresford are high and rising slowly. In the last week, 20mm of rain has been recorded in Bishops Sutton. During this time, the levels at both Preston Candover and Old Alresford have risen by 13cm. A small number of properties are expected to be experiencing cellar flooding in Preston Candover and Old Alresford. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. From today 03/02/2025 until Friday 07/02/2025, only minimal rainfall is expected. Groundwater levels are expected to begin peaking within the next week. It is possible that internal ground floor flooding impacts could affect isolated properties in Old Alresford towards the end of February if further heavy rain affects the area. We continue to monitor the forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Monday 10/02/2025.
