Groundwater levels in the Bourne Valley are high but slowly falling. During the last week, half a month’s rain (30mm) was recorded at Andover. We expect a small number of properties in Upton and Hurstbourne Tarrant will be experiencing cellar flooding. In Upton, water continues to affect the main road. Impacts to the sewerage network and septic tanks are ongoing throughout the valley. From today (01/05/2024) to Friday (03/05/2024), heavy rain is forecast in Hampshire with between 25 and 50mm of rain possible in these three days. Groundwater levels are expected to initially continue falling, but could begin to stabilise or even rise next week if heavy rain affects the Bourne Valley. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Wednesday (08/05/2024).
