Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The risk of flooding remains. Areas most at risk are low-lying agricultural land and roads around Slash Lane at Sileby and the Mountsorrel to Sileby road and Sileby Mill road, and farmlands at Cossington, Sileby, Barrow, Quorndon and Cotes. Light rain is forecast over the next 6 hours. River levels remain high at the Pillings Lock Gauge and will continue to be so over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water & avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 17:00PM on 23 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
