Nailbourne and Little Stour

Flood alert

River levels continue to rise on the Little Stour and Nailbourne following periods of persistent rainfall, most recently on Thursday 29 February. Flooding is expected to continue to affect low lying land and roads along the River Nailbourne around Bridge and Bekesbourne, and areas along the Little Stour around Littlebourne and Wickhambreux. Please avoid driving or walking through floodwater. The forecast is for further spells of rain on Friday 1 March and through into next week. Higher flows and river levels are likely to remain throughout March. We are actively monitoring the situation, liaising with partners and our staff are maintaining and clearing key structures. The Littlebourne Flood Relief channel is operating. This message will be updated by 6pm on 4 March 2024, or as the situation changes.
