Property flooding is not currently expected.
River levels are rising along the whole Upper Kennet catchment, but especially in the Hungerford area. This is as a result of recent rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and low lying land is possible. The forecast for today, 27 January 2025, is for showers with periods of more prolonged rainfall. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are monitoring the situation.
Avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. Go to the 'River and Sea levels in England' webpage for current river levels. Do not drive through flood water. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 28 January 2025, or as the situation changes.
