River levels are rising at the Saxons Lode river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is expected to continue. We expect flooding to affect property and roads in and around Hanley Castle and Saxons Lode. Predicted Peak:- Saxons Lode 5.25m to 5.4m overnight Saturday 23/01/2021 into Sunday 24/01/2021. No further significant rainfall is forecast over the next 24 to 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the weekend. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths and roads near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water. This message will be updated by 10am on Sunday, 24/01/21, or as the situation changes.
