River levels are high but steady at the Milford Sow river gauge. Consequently flooding is still possible on 23 January 2026 . We expect river levels to remain high into Saturday Morning. Flooding may affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Sow between Great Bridgeford and Shugborough, the River Penk between Coven and Stafford, the Sandyford Brook, the Rising Brook, the Ridings Brook and the Saredon Brook. We are monitoring rainfall and river levels, and clearing weed screens. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses . Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded This message will be updated by 11:00AM on 24 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
