Flooding possible. Be prepared.

A FLOOD ALERT UPDATE has been issued for Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City.
This Flood Alert is for river, surface water and coastal flood risk.Spells of persistent rain are expected to continue in this area during Thursday and Friday. This will be accompanied by strong south easterly winds. Rivers in the area will respond to this and are likely to peak on Thursday, remaining high through into Friday. Flooding to low-lying land and roads is expected to cause some disruption and flooding to low-lying properties or parts of communities is possible. There may be a danger to life due to deep fast flowing water.In coastal areas spring tides, coupled with large onshore waves mean that some localised flooding along coastal roads and promenades is possible. SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here as the situation develops.
