Groundwater levels are high and slowly falling. At our borehole in Harestock, the level peaked on Wednesday 13/03/2024. Since then, it has fallen by 44cm. We expect groundwater is impacting Springvale Road through Kings Worthy. In Martyr Worthy, Chilland and Easton, drainage ditches and culverts are full and have become less effective as natural flow paths are restricted. Some properties are likely experiencing some internal ground floor flooding impacts as water seeps up through floors. Footpaths near the river are impassable. From today (18/03/2024) to Friday, only very small amounts of rain are forecast. Groundwater levels will continue to decrease this week. Flooding impacts will also decrease but will continue to affect the area for most of March. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Monday 25/03/2024.
