Flood Alert

River levels are rising at the Byton river gauge due to heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible from Thursday, 14/11/19. Flooding is affecting low lying land and roads to the River Lugg north of Leominster. Locations that may be affected include Yarpole, Mortimers Cross, Kingsland and the B4362. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to keep rising until Friday morning, . We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 4am on 15/11/2019, or as the situation changes.
