This message has been issued because some minor flooding to riverside roads and footpaths is likely tonight, Monday 18th January 2021, and through the rest of the week. This is due to a natural tide locking effect. High tidal water moving up the rivers from Great Yarmouth, is currently restricting the normal drainage out to sea at low tide, of the Broads river system. We expect to see water levels approaching flood warning level tomorrow morning at Beccles Quay. A combination of tide locking and high fluvial flows into the broads will see high water levels around high water. These high levels are expected to continue for the next few days. Take care on waterside roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message as necessary.
