Flooding expected. Take action now.

Flood warning

Heavy rain is currently falling in the Lower Witham catchment and will continue throughout the morning on Monday, January 6. This is causing Barlings Eau to rise and is forecast to continue to rise through the early hours of the morning. Low lying areas near to river are already flooded and we now expect properties in Langworth to be affected this morning onwards. Low lying properties on Main Road in Langworth are expected to be affected first. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for the morning of Monday, January 6, and therefore river levels are likely to continue to rise. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. Please avoid contact with flood water. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the emergency services and council. We will be closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated online and on FloodLine by 3PM on 06/01/25, or before if the situation changes.
