Flooding possible. Be prepared.
The Flood Alerts for the rivers in South London remain in force. River levels are forecast to rise this evening Tuesday 08/10/2024 due to heavy rainfall expected in South London this afternoon and tonight. The rainfall will clear by the early hours of tomorrow morning on Wednesday 09/10/2024. Flooding is forecast to affect low lying land near rivers this evening and overnight. Property flooding is unlikely but remains possible. We are prepared to issue Flood Warnings if required.
Plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are out on the ground checking and clearing any blockages and debris from the river.
Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued. This message will be updated by 9am tomorrow 09/10/2024.
