River Levels

Broughton Beck at Elslack and Broughton Business Park

Message issued at 12:38pm, Monday 10th February 2020

Warning no longer in force

River levels have now fallen below levels of concern following persistent heavy rainfall due to Storm Ciara. Broughton Beck peaked at around midday yesterday, 09/02/20, at levels just below those seen in June 2000. The Flood Warning for the area has now been removed.
Whilst further scattered showers are forecast throughout the rest of today, 10/02/20, we do not anticipate a significant river level response. The Flood Alert for this area has also now been removed. There may still be standing water in the area, in particular on roads and low lying land.
To report property flooding, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
We continue to monitor the situation. Our incident response staff are checking the condition of defences.
Please see GOV.UK for a 5 day flood forecast, and for weather forecasts see the Met Office. Avoid contact with flood water, and please plan your driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
