Flooding possible. Be prepared.
A large tidal surge is expected to affect the foreshore as a result of high spring tides and strong winds. Wave and sea spray overtopping of sea walls and promenades is likely Tides will be at their highest between 23:00 on 11/03/20 and 01:00 on 12/03/20.
Flooding to roads, coastal paths and low lying land is possible at these times. However, conditions may apply two to four hours either side of the high tide.
Flooding may affect low lying land, roads and coastal paths in Formby, Downholland Moss, Great Altcar, Hightown, Blundellsands and Crosby areas
Further warnings are currently forecast to be issued for subsequent high tides.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near the coast.
This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 12/03/20, or as the situation changes.
