Flood warning

Storm Ashley, bringing strong winds, large waves and spray overtopping on the coast, is expected to cause flooding overnight.
Highest tide level is expected to be at 2:15 AM on 21/10/2024. Flooding is possible several hours either side of this time.
Areas most at risk include Allonby, Maryport, Flimby, Workington, Parton and Whitehaven areas.
We have closed flood gates at Flimby and Maryport.
Start acting on your flood plan if you have one.
Stay away from beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as large waves and sea spray could be dangerous. Please don't put yourself or others at risk.
After the high tide overnight‚ the weather is more settled and no further flooding is expected.
