Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are rising at the Day Brook river gauge as a result of Storm BABET. Consequently, flooding of property is expected from 13:00 today, 20/10/23. Areas most at risk are Old Basford, including Ventnor Rise, Fetworth Drive, Harmston Rise, Tunstall Drive, Barlock Road, and Heatherly Drive. Heavy rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. River levels will continue to rise over the weekend.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low-lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 18:45 this afternoon on 20/10/23, or as the situation changes.
