Flooding possible. Be prepared.
This message has been issued because the predicted high winds means there is a risk of large waves and sea spray effecting coastal roads and footpaths. This is likely between 9:30pm and 12:15am overnight tonight, Monday 27 January, and tomorrow morning between 10am and 12pm, Tuesday 28 January. Areas most at risk are Southend frontage, and roads around Southchurch Park and Thorpe Hall Golf Club, Shoebury Common and Cambridge Town. The forecast is for force 6 southerly winds. We are not expecting to issue any further alerts or for the situation to escalate. Take care on coastal roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself in unnecessary danger. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message by 2pm Tuesday 28 January.
