River levels are still high on the Western Rother, but are now beginning to fall, after Storm Dennis's widespread heavy rain. Flood impacts will continue to affect fields, gardens, roads near Lower Street, Fittleworth. Large amounts of water will be in the fields. Properties that may still be affected include Mill Properties and cottages close to Fittleworth Bridge. Please continue to take care in and around flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. Rain has now cleared, and only isolated showers are expected until Thursday 20/2/2020. These showers are unlikely to cause river levels to rise significantly, if at all. River levels may not return to normal until Wednesday morning 19/2/2020. Please plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 11:00 18/2/2020.
