Flooding possible. Be prepared.
High river levels on Thursday may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible on 22 January 2026 from 17:00. A lot of rain (40mm) has fallen since Tuesday.
Minor flooding could affect the A29, gardens, and rural roads. From 23:00 on 22/01/2026 water could approach properties on Lower Street and Swan Corner, Pulborough and Bridge Cottages, Greatham. Over high tides (14:00 and 02:00) water will be high up banks near Houghton Bridge, Amberley, and Arundel, but property flooding is not currently expected in Amberley and Arundel. Small amounts of rain are forecast each of the next five days. River levels should peak by 08:00 on 23/01/2026. However, river levels will be slow to fall, and flood risk could continue through to Sunday 25/1/2026.
We are closely monitoring the situation . Our pumps in Pulborough are running to help reduce flood risk.
Consider activating any flood protection products you may have . Install flood protection products in Pulborough, Amberley and Arundel.
