Pulborough on the River Arun

Warning no longer in force

River levels are higher than normal on the Lower Arun, but have now peaked and are falling slowly through Pulborough, after Storm Dennis' widespread heavy rain. Flood impacts will continue to ease, but are still high enough to affect fields, gardens, roads and be very close to properties. No new property flooding is expected today. Please continue to take care in, and around, flood affected areas, flood water can contain hidden dangers. A small amount of rain is predicted Tuesday and Wednesday, which shouldn’t affect river levels significantly. But rain on Thursday 20/2/2020, may cause river levels to rise again, and potentially see flood risk return. Please remain prepared for the possibility of flooding to return later in the week. Plan to avoid driving through routes vulnerable to flooding such as the A29 through Pulborough. Our pumps in Pulborough are running to help reduce the risk of flooding. We will update this message by 11:00 19/2/2020.
