Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels are forecast to rise at the A2 Dryden Street river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding could occur between 21:00 on 28/07/19 and 06:00 on 29/07/19, but there is low confidence given the unpredictable nature of the rainfall. Properties in the vicinity of Bear Street, Shakespeare Street, Palmerston Street, Thompson Street and Greenbridge Mill are at risk.
Further rainfall is forecast overnight. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety.
This message will be updated tomorrow morning 29/07/19 or as the situation changes.
