Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

This alert remains in place as river levels remain high on the Gypsey Race due to recent rainfall and high groundwater levels. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Gypsey Race, with low-lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around the Gypsey Race from Wold Newton to Bridlington. Groundwater will remain high for some time. We are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 5:00pm on Wednesday 31/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
