Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels are forecast to rise on the Holbeck catchment this morning, Sunday 08/12/2024 due to rainfall associated with Storm Darragh. Areas most at risk are locations near Hovingham Beck, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly land around Holbeck and it's tributaries including Thorpe Beck, Marrs Beck, and including properties to the west of Station Road at Gilling East. Avoid using low lying land and footpaths near local watercourses, including around Hovingham, and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Further rainfall is forecast this morning. This message will be updated by 16:30 on Sunday 08/12/2024, or as the situation changes.
