Flooding expected. Take action now.
Beck levels are rising as a result of persistent overnight rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property is possible from late morning today. Areas most at risk are properties at Holgate Beck at York.
Further rainfall is forecast during the morning and is expected to clear this afternoon. We expect beck levels to rise throughout the morning and early afternoon.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and closely monitoring the forecast..
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water.
