Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

This Flood Alert remains in place due to strong winds, surge and high spring tides on the coast and tidal River Ouse over the coming days. Flooding of low lying land and roads is possible between today, Tuesday 09/04/24 until this evenings high tide has passed between 6PM and 8PM. Areas most at risk include low lying land from Faxfleet to Howdendyke. Some seepage was observed last night in the Faxfleet, Saltmarshe and Blacktoft areas and we could see some further seepage tonight, altough peak levels are forecast to be lower than Monday evening. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the next few days and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Be careful along the riverside, beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads as high river levels, large waves and spray could be dangerous. This message will be updated by 9PM on Tuesday 09/04/24, or as the situation changes.
