Flood warning

Tide locking, where high tides restrict normal drainage of the river out to sea, is expected to cause flooding overnight.
Flooding is expected from 1:30am to 3:00am BST (12:30am to 2:00am GMT) tonight and 10:30am to 2:45pm on 26 October.
Areas most at risk are in St Olaves, Somerleyton, Burgh St Peter, Oulton Broad and Beccles. Roads likely to be affected include Beccles Road at St Olaves, Geldeston Lock Lane, Gillingham Dam and Fen Lane in Beccles. River levels will remain high over the next couple of days.
We are closely monitoring the situation .
Avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded .
This message will be updated by 10:00AM on 26 October 2025 or as the situation changes.
