Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels have begun to fall following the extremely heavy rainfall experienced over the last few hours, Wednesday 12/06/2019. The situation has begun to improve but there remains a risk of further heavy showers overnight. There is uncertainty in the location of these showers but if they occur in this area, the river level could be expected to rise again. The main impacted areas appear to be Hazelmere Road, Birchwood Road and Crossway in Petts Wood. There have also been reports of surface water flooding in the area leading to impacts.
We are working closely with our partners and have also had staff in the area responding to the situation. Please remain aware of the situation locally and remain safe in the area of concern.
We will update this message tomorrow morning, Thursday 13/06/2019 once the immediate risk clears, or sooner if the situation changes.
