Flooding expected. Take action now.
This message has been issued because flooding of homes and businesses is likely between 22:30pm and 02:30am overnight tonight, Monday 8 April into tomorrow, Tuesday 9 April. Tides are expected to be higher than usual, due to the forecast weather conditions during spring tides. Areas most at risk are, Chandlers Quay, Chelmer Terrace, the Hythe and promenade park. The detailed forecast for those that use it is for a peak level at Clacton of 3.22 mAODN at half past midnight tonight, Monday 8 April into, Tuesday 9 April, which is 0.76m above tide tables, wind Force 5, in a south-westerly direction. (mAODN is height above average sea level, for more info refer to local tide tables). Be ready to take action to protect your property if flooding is expected. We are monitoring the situation and will update this message by 10am tomorrow, Tuesday 9 April.
