Flood warning

River levels have risen at the Derby Bridge Street river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall and snow melt. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible this morning, 06/01/25.
Areas most at risk are properties off Brook Street, Little Bridge Street, Bridge Street, Darley Bank student accommodation, Lens Road and Markeaton Lane. Ashbourne Road Allotments and the Scout Group building off Watson Street, Willowbrook Stables and Markeaton Park are also likely to become affected.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Tuesday on 07/01/25.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are patrolling watercourses in the area.
Please move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and turn off gas, electricity and water.

This message will be updated by 15:00 this afternoon, 06/01/25, or as the situation changes.
