Flood alert

River levels have risen in response to rainfall associated with Storm Claudia which may lead to flooding today, Saturday 15 November 2025.

Locations most affected will be land around the Middle River Nidd and its tributaries including Thornton Beck, Newton Beck, Oak Beck, Cow Dyke Beck, Bilton Beck, Frogmire Dike and Syke Dike. Rainfall is expected to ease this morning and levels are peaking.

We are closely monitoring the situation.

Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
