Flooding possible. Be prepared.
River levels are rising rapidly on the Mimmshall Brook due to heavy rainfall today, Tuesday 26 March. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Mimmshall Brook, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around Warrengate Road in North Mimms. Further rainfall is forecast this evening but the forecast for tomorrow is mostly dry. Further heavy rainfall is forecast for Thursday 28 March.
River levels are rising at the Mimms Hall and Warrengate Road gauges. We will continue to monitor levels closely. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
This message will be updated by 10am on Wednesday 27 March, or as the situation changes.
