Flooding possible. Be prepared.

Flood alert

High river levels and further rainfall over the next few days may lead to flooding. Flooding is possible from Saturday night throughout Sunday. Catchments are saturated and river levels remain high. A further band of rain is expected to arrive in the early hours of Sunday morning and river levels are forecast to rise and remain high throughout day. Flooding to low lying land and roads close to the rivers is likely. The main areas of concern are Jacobstowe, Okehampton and North Tawton. We are closely monitoring the situation.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. Higher rainfall totals are forecast for Monday evening, through Tuesday and further flood Alerts and Warnings are possible. This message will be updated by 3:30PM on 25 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
