Flood alert

High tides on Wednesday morning may lead to flooding.
Flooding is possible 2 hours either side of high tide on Wednesday morning.
Areas particularly at risk include Lynmouth, Combe Martin, Hele, Ilfracombe, Lee, Instow, Appledore, Westward Ho!, and Clovelly, Bideford, Barnstaple.
The high tide at Ilfracombe on Wednesday morning is at 07:30am, times of high water will vary along the coast. Forecast total high tide level is 5.14mAOD, which is 0.41 metres above tide table level. Force 5 easterly winds and offshore wave heights over 2.2m are forecast over the high tide.
Coastal conditions should ease for Wednesday evening’s high tide.
We are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid coastal roads, footpaths and carparks, which may be flooded.
