Flood warning

A combination of strong winds and spring tides may cause large waves and spray overtopping on the coast throughout the morning particularly at Pier Road. There is the potential for flooding at Pier Road, The Chandlery and Marlin Buildings in Berwick, Blakewell Road and West End in Tweedmouth, The Waterfront at Sandstell Road in Spittal, and Berwick Dock between 03:00 AM and 05:30 AM on 07/11/2021. Flooding is possible 2 to 4 hours either side of this time. We are expecting higher than normal tides over the weekend and as a result we may issue further alerts/warnings for subsequent tides on Sunday, 07/11/2021. We will continue to work with emergency services and local authorities and to keep closely monitoring the situation.
Residents are urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your surroundings. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. This message will be updated by 10:00 AM on 07/11/2021, or as the situation changes.
