Flooding expected. Take action now.
This flood warning remains in force due to strong northerly winds associated with Storm Arwen causing large waves and spray overtopping along the North Yorkshire Coast. Overtopping is beginning to reduce but hazardous conditions are expected to continue overnight into early morning on Sunday 28th November 2021. The particular areas at risk are exposed areas of the coast around Scarborough, particularly low lying paths around Scarborough North Bay promenade. Please be careful along beaches, coastal footpaths and roads in the area, as large waves and sea spray can be dangerous with debris. We will continue to monitor the forecast and levels closely. This message will be updated by 08:00 on Sunday 28th November 2021, or as the situation changes.
