Heavy thundery rainfall this afternoon is expected to cause river levels to rise rapidly. Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible between 4:30pm and 7pm Sunday 6 July, 2025.
Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads along the River Pent in Folkestone first. Flooding in this area can happen very quickly. Heavy rainfall is expected to clear this evening and no further flooding is expected, although showers are expected to continue into Monday 7 July, 2025. We are closely monitoring the situation and are checking rivers for blockages.
Monitor your local situation and consider activating any property flood protection products if you have them. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 10 pm on Sunday 6 July, 2025, or as the situation changes.
