Flooding expected. Take action now.
Property flooding is expected. River levels remain high on the River Wey, as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of roads and farmland is expected, and flooding of properties closest to the river is expected to continue this evening, 18/02/2020 and into tomorrow, 19/02/2020, in the Byfleet area. We have received reports of isolated property flooding this morning, to properties closest to the river. This evening and overnight is forecast to be mainly dry. We expect river levels to remain high over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are in the area clearing weed and trash screens. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses, and move family, pets and cars to safety. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, 19/02/20, or as the situation changes.
