River levels are rising on the River Aire due to heavy rainfall.
This afternoon, 20th October 2023, areas most at risk include Esholt including Esholt Lane, Cunliffe Lane and Chapel Lane and extending further downstream to Esholt Waste Water Treatment Works. Apperley Bridge including Apperley Road, Harrogate Road and Parkin Lane.
Rainfall is expected throughout today, and river levels are expected to remain high. Our incident rooms are open and we are closely monitoring the situation. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions, and consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 22:50, 20/10/2023, or as the situation changes.
