Flood warning

High river levels are expected to cause flooding this morning. 
Flooding is expected on 27 January 2026 . 
Heavy rain falling in the area will continue throughout the day.

Properties and low lying areas will start to flood from around 07:30AM on Tuesday. The main areas of concern are Brook Street, Briton Street, Bridge Terrace and the New Buildings and Mill Area. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas.

River levels are forecast to be at their highest between 07:30AM and 10AM. 
We are closely monitoring the situation . 
Activate any flood protection products you may have . Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. 
This message will be updated by 4:00PM on 27 January 2026 or as the situation changes.
