Flood warning

River levels have risen rapidly as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible, from 18:00 Sunday 20/02/2022. Areas most at risk are properties between Chapel Hill Road Bridge and the footbridge to the technical college as well as around the stadium. River levels are expected to peak later this evening.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours and we expect river levels to remain high overnight and into tomorrow.
We are closely monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are closely monitoring the forecast.
Please plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded, and put your flood plan into action.
This message will be updated by 02:15 tomorrow morning, Monday 21/02/2022, or as the situation changes.
