Flooding expected. Take action now.
River levels on the River Colne in Rickmansworth have peaked and fallen slowly throughout the day, Monday 1st February. However, further rain is forecast overnight and tomorrow which may see levels start to rise once again during the afternoon and evening on Tuesday.
Flooding to properties and low lying areas around the River Colne, particularly within the Batchworth, Money Hill and Maple Cross areas remains possible on Tuesday, but levels are not currently expected to exceed those seen in recent days.
Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe, avoid entering flood water, and be aware of your local surroundings.
We are continuing to closely monitor river levels in the area and have staff on standby and ready to respond, to clear any river blockages.
This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Tuesday 1st February, or earlier if the situation changes.
